Immediate Implants

Implants placed into fresh extraction sockets (Immediate implants) offer the following advantages:

  1. To avoid hard and soft tissue collapsing – studies have shown significant bone shrinkage occurs in the firstĀ 2 months after a tooth is removed.
  2. To avoid the need for grafting.
  3. To avoid extra surgeries.
  4. For faster results.

Immediate implants are technique sensitive and possible if the area around the extracted tooth is infection-free and certain other clinical criteria are met. If immediate implant are not possible due to infection, a bone and soft tissue healing period is required prior to re-assessment and placement of implants.
